MACOMB - A tower collapse in southwest Macomb on Tuesday left numerous services off the air.
Kim
Limkeman, president of Logonix Corp., said Wednesday that his firm was
working to restore wireless Internet service that was taken off the air
when the tower collapsed on Bridgeway's Deer Road campus.
"Our
main link is up and running and we hope to have at least 85 percent of
our downed wireless customers back online by 5 p.m. today," Limkeman
said Wednesday.

Other services disrupted by the downed tower include FM station
K100, two Christian low-power FM translators, Verizon Wireless cellular
and Supreme Radio Communications two-way radio service.
WKAI, known on the air as K100, set up a backup transmitter at their downtown studios and is broadcasting once again.
General Manager Jamie Friend said the station was off the air for only 24 hours.
Engineers tuned up the station's backup transmitter and hope to increase the power next week if all goes well. It may be some time, however, before Bridgeway can get a new tower erected that would support a higher antenna for K100.
