Company not cited for deadly TV tower fall

The Department of Labor and Industry has decided no citations will be issued as a result of a deadly tower accident last spring.

Forty-eight-year-old Michael Hinsberger and 60-year-old Gregory Harrington had finished installing an antenna on a radio tower in Martinsville last March, when the cable they were being lowered with broke.

Both men fell about 30 feet.  The fall killed Harrington.

Investigators found the wire ropes the two men used as a life-line did not meet required standards.  The men were also attached to the same line, and should have each had their own.

No citations were issued though because Harrington was the sole owner of the company.
