| I'm starting to become confused...first it said an 18-year old was in critical condition and then it said he died. (very sad) Now he's 17-years old...what is the real story? | |

| 17 is not legal | Mon Sep 18, 2006 8:55 pm |
| That 17 year old couldn't have legally worked there. You gotta be at least 18 to do that work.I have 12 years climbing those and other types of towers for the communication industry. He fell because there wasn't a safety cable running up the length of the climbing ladder. He could wear his harness without clipping in to such a cable.I know I did on numerous occasions. But only because there was no cable.Alot of times those tanks have a pipe that requires another ascending device altogether. At any rate,it was more than likely the climber's error. That stuff hardly ever breaks. | |

| that was my friend and it was his uncles company that he was working for and he was 18 not 17. the harness that he was wearing broke and that was what made him fall and if he was going to haunt anything it would not be down there it would be back in Toccoa Ga where he was from. He is greatly loved and missed | |

| To the individual that posted the haunted comment,
you should really be ashamed. This child has a mother who is grieving
desperately over the sudden loss of her son. It is sad that someone of
your mentality is even allowed to use a computer. To Janet and her family. We are so sorry for your loss and can't even begin to imagine the pain you must be feeling. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. TOCCOA, GA

| We at Shenandoah Tower Service ltd. are deeply
saddened every time we here this type of news. It should be mandatory that Mr. Catoe's employer, David Telecom along with OSHA announce and make public the findings of their investigation. The results should automatically be forwarded to the National Association of Tower Erectors so that they (NATE) can share the information with it's prestigious members in a world wide effort to save lives in our industry. Our prayers go out to the Catoe Family as well as the 20 plus families that have lost loved ones in our industry earlier this year. Sincerely, Dan Anthony P.M.
