Advanced Tower Climbing Safety & Rescue--3 days of intense training
In today's ever-changing world, technology is a major part of the growth & change. With change come new rules and laws. More & more clients today are requiring more than a 2-day certification for many reasons. This means that many of you may be required to take our Advanced TS&R course in order to continue to be part of the industry. Not all clients will want CTC certified (Competent Tower Climber) climbers, but if they do, you won't climb without having your CTC certification.
The Advanced level 'certifies' that climbers are COMPETENT. So, what is competent? That's the million-dollar question. These are the definitions provided by OSHA and ANSI.
ANSI/TIA Z359.0 Sub-section 2.14
"Competent Person--An individual knowledgeable of fall protection equipment, including the manufacturers recommendations and instructions for the proper use, inspection, storage and maintenance; and who is capable of identifying existing and potential fall hazards; and who has the employer's authority to take prompt corrective action to eliminate or control those hazards; and who is knowledgeable of the laws, regulations and standards regarding fall protection equipment and systems."
OSHA Part 1926.32 (f)-Definitions
"Competent Person": means one who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them.
This 3-day course includes everything taught in the 2-day TS&R course with the addition of several more field exercises, rigging, knot tying, differing methods of rescue, and more.

Non-climbers are those who need to know rules, regulations, equipment & safety, but yet won't climb since they don't actually do the tower work themselves...Managers, Engineers and Safety Directors, for example.
