Capstan Hoist Operator
Comtrain classes are designed to meet OSHA regulations and addresses applicable ANSI standards and equipment needed to meet those standards. All Comtrain courses meet the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training as per ASSE/ANSI Z490.1, the NATE Tower Climber Fall Protection Standard (CTS) and the requirements of ANSI/ASSE Z359.2, Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program, found in the ANSI/ASSE Z359 Fall Protection Code. The Comtrain Tower Rigging Courses addresses OSHA 29 CFR 1926, ASSE/ANSI 10.48-2016, ASSE/ANSI 10.42-2000-R2017, ANSI/TIA ASME B30.9 and B30.26.
The Capstan Hoist Operator course is an intensive 1/2-day program designed to help the employer meet OSHA requirements & recommended ANSI standards (A10.48). This course covers subjects such as Capstan Hoist History, Labels, ratings and Inspections, the different models of Capstan Hoists, Operation, Mounts and Anchorages. Our course is based off the AB Chance Hubbell Series 90 Capstan Hoist but it covers hazards and operation of many different models of hoists. More Info
The Instructor (Comtrain-the-Trainer) course is designed to prepare an In-house instructor to incorporate Comtrain’s “Capstan Hoist Operator” training into company safety plans and policies and then deliver the training to their employees. More Info

In addition to our weekly scheduled Open Enrollment Classes we can bring our training to your location! Call about scheduling a class for your Climbers and/or Riggers. Certain requirements pertain including providing a tower for the practical portion of the training, minimum class size and ample lead time.
