COMTRAIN ADDS THE “BASIC RIGGER” CERTIFICATION

EFFECTIVE JAN. 1, 2020 – COMTRAIN ADDS THE “BASIC RIGGER” CERTIFICATION for rigging crew members with less than 3 years of tower work experience.

ANSI 10.48 requires that a Competent Rigger have at least 3 years of tower work experience and many tower owners are requiring that anyone who works on a crew performing a RIGGING TASK or lift must have “some basic rigging” training. This leaves many crew members needing proof of rigging training that do not qualify for a Competent Rigger certification. In an effort to adhere to industry best practices by following the rigging experience requirement in the ANSI 10.48 Comtrain has added a Basic Rigger Certification that can be awarded to those crew members that do not have the experience required for the Competent Rigger.
