EM 385-1-1 is the Engineer’s Manual released by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The manual outlines the health and safety standards you must follow. To help you understand these standards, we offer a 16-Hour EM 385 Training course. 

Our 16-Hour EM 385-1-1 Training course provides you with an orientation to the safety standards you need to follow. You’ll learn:    

How to identify the Site Health and Safety Officers (SSHOs) 
The proper ways to handle, store, and dispose of potentially hazardous materials
How to choose the right equipment to keep yourself safe from falls
Best practices for working safely in confined spaces

You will also understand what to do to stay safe during excavations and trenching.  

Course Duration: 16 Hours

The course is followed by a computer based exam. Students must pass with a 75% or better and will have limited chances to pass the exam. If a students fails the course for any reason, they will need to pay for the course again. Upon passing the exam the student will receive a certificate of completion. This certification is valid for 12 months.
