To help protect workers, OSHA has identified the four most dangerous hazards in construction, known as the Focus Four. One of these is a caught-in or -between hazard, which occurs when a worker is pinned, crushed, squeezed, or caught between objects, equipment, or machinery.

Because these incidents often result in serious injury or death, the OSHA Focus Four Hazards in Construction: Caught-In or -Between course is designed to help workers and managers identify and avoid them. By learning to recognize these dangers and apply safe work practices, participants will understand how to minimize the risks and keep everyone safe on the job.
