How to tie a figure 8 knot
The figure 8 knot is a popular and easy to tie termination knot. The knot is easier to untie after loading than an overhand knot because of the more gentle curves but not nearly as easy to untie as a bowline. It is a good termination knot because of the gentle curves that de-rate the rope strength less than the bowline.
